Welcome to our Pico Bonito Hotel, where nature meets luxury and sustainability is at the heart of our operations.
A natural option for everyone
- Natural Cooling: Experience the comfort of our rooms, designed with high ceilings and cross-ventilation. There's no need for air conditioning, ensuring a peaceful and natural rest.
- Eco-Friendly Lighting: We're transitioning to LED lightbulbs, ensuring our ambiance remains cozy while being kind to the planet.
- Solar Power: Our property boasts 8 solar panels, generating up to 3.68 kWh. Paired with a bank of 8 cutting-edge batteries and an inverter system (photos coming soon!), we harness the sun's energy for our daily operations.
- Innovative Water Heating: We're proud to introduce our newly installed heat pump water heater - probably the first in any Honduran hotel. This state-of-the-art system is incredibly efficient, consuming just 400 watts in heat pump mode.
- Water Management: We separate greywater (from showers and sinks) from blackwater. The greywater is repurposed for irrigation, ensuring every drop is utilized.
- Water Conservation: Say goodbye to single-use water bottles. We offer an oasis where guests can refill their bottles as needed. Additionally, each room is equipped with a pitcher for your convenience. Our water system, sourced from a stream on our property, operates entirely on gravity, eliminating electrical consumption.
- Local Artistry: Each room is adorned with original artwork from national painters, celebrating the rich culture of Honduras.
- Organic Waste Recycling: Our organic waste doesn't go to waste! It serves as food for our resident chickens and hens.
- Bird-Friendly Gardens: Our fruit trees not only provide fresh produce but also attract a variety of birds. We're committed to maintaining flowers that allure birds, especially hummingbirds, ensuring they have natural nectar sources instead of artificial feeders.
