Are you  looking for a wider variety of activities to enjoy at Pico Bonito National Park? Consider a visit to the nearby national parks. The Cayos Cochinos Marine Monument is only one hour our hotel. A short 30 minute ride to Sambo Creek and a 30 minute boat trip from there. You will enjoy a pristine island setting.  I challenge you to find a more pristine setting in the Caribbean!

The Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge is 30 km west of La Ceiba. Within an hour from your room at La Villa de Soledad you can find yourself kayaking or canoeing in Mangrove Canals.  Access is via a funky train that runs on a narrow gauge railroad track. The estuary is home to the endangered Antillean Manatee.

The many canals and lagoons are surrounded by mangrove forests that are home to howler monkeys. Marine birds are abundant and will complement the birds you have seen near our Pico Bonito Hotel.  To the East, you can also visit the Cacao Lagoon, were kayaking will allow you to sneak up on the local wildlife.
